The future of data spaces: enabling sovereign, interoperable and trusted data ecosystems – Position Paper, 16 June 2025
PHASE IV AI has published one press release entitled “The Future of Data Spaces: Enabling Sovereign, Interoperable and Trusted Data Ecosystems (position paper)”. INESC TEC has published this press release outlining its vision for advancing data spaces aligned with FAIR principles. The document highlights the development of a new data space connector designed to support data intelligence, trust, and interoperability across domains. It addresses challenges in data sharing, monetization, and identity, with a focus on real-world use cases in energy and health. A key focus is the PHASE IV AI project, which explores federated learning and secure multi-party computation to enable privacy-preserving AI in health. In this approach, AI models are trained locally on sensitive data without transferring patient information, supporting compliance and trust. The work also addresses synthetic data generation, model reputation tracking, and cross-organizational collaboration – laying the groundwork for data spaces in domains like health and energy.
