Use Case 2 Validation & Evaluation Workshop on Prostate Cancer (Phase 2), 6 March 2026<\/p><\/h2><\/div>

KU Leuven\u00a0and University of Turku hosted\u00a0the Use Case 2 Validation & Evaluation Workshop\u00a0for\u00a0Phase 2 focused on prostate cancer.\u00a0It brought\u00a0together researchers, clinicians, and technology partners to review progress and gather feedback on its latest innovations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop\u00a0demonstrated\u00a0an integrated pipeline combining synthetic data generation, data harmonization, and federated learning, aimed at improving clinical decision\u00a0in prostate cancer,\u00a0particularly in predicting lymph node invasion and reducing unnecessary biopsies. Participants were introduced to new AI-assisted tools for mapping heterogeneous hospital data into a common standard, as well as distributed machine learning approaches that enable model training across institutions without sharing sensitive patient data.\u00a0A key focus\u00a0of the workshop\u00a0was\u00a0to evaluate the\u00a0synthetic data with novel methods presented to assess not only model performance but also data fidelity and robustness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In parallel, new techniques for generating and evaluating longitudinal patient data highlighted the importance of preserving temporal patterns in clinical datasets. <\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop also featured the Health Data Hub, a secure, federated ecosystem aligned with emerging European regulations, designed to enable trusted data sharing, service deployment, and collaboration across stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
