KATY round-table discussion in Lisbon | 13 March 2025<\/h2><\/div>

We are pleased to share that our partner, The Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law (University of Vienna)<\/a>, took part in the roundtable discussion\u00a0 hosted by the KATY project, an EU-funded initiative.<\/p>\n

On the 13th of March 2025, Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law (University of Vienna) conducted a round-table talk titled \ud835\uddd4\ud835\udddc \ud835\uddd4\ud835\uddf0\ud835\ude01 \ud835\udddc\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddfd\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfb\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddee\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfb \ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfb \ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf5\ud835\uddf2 \ud835\udddb\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf9\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf5 \ud835\udde6\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddf0\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddff – \ud835\uddd6\ud835\uddf5\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf4\ud835\uddf2\ud835\ude00 \ud835\uddee\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf1 \ud835\udde2\ud835\uddfd\ud835\uddfd\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddff\ud835\ude01\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf6\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddf2\ud835\ude00 on the legal, ethical, and societal aspects of the AI technologies in medical sector, and the impact, reception and regulatory aspects of the recently enacted EU AI Act (2024).
\nThe discussion was part of the \ud835\uddde\ud835\uddd4\ud835\udde7\ud835\uddec Annual Progress Meeting which took place in Lisbon.<\/p>\n

This event brought together researchers, policymakers, and industry experts to explore the challenges and opportunities that the AI Act presents for AI-driven healthcare solutions. Events like this provide an excellent platform to engage with stakeholders and address critical regulatory challenges in health tech innovation.<\/p>\n

The roundtable was attended by a panel of excellent external experts from law, human rights, AI, and healthcare, who are involved in medical research projects similar to KATY:<\/p>\n

Our participation highlighted key considerations for compliance, privacy, and the ethical use of synthetic data in AI systems.<\/p>\n
