Use Case 3 Validation & Evaluation Workshop on Ischemic Stroke (Phase 1), 16 September 2025
Turku University of Applied Sciences hosted a PHASE IV AI workshop focused on Use Case 3: Ischemic Stroke. The event brought together clinicians, researchers, and technology experts to explore how AI can support stroke diagnosis and lesion analysis while ensuring patient data privacy.
Participants discussed the use of federated learning, which allows hospitals to collaboratively train AI models without sharing sensitive data, and explored the potential of synthetic imaging data to enhance research and algorithm development. The meeting also highlighted the importance of clearly defining clinical questions, identifying relevant imaging sequences, and understanding real-world workflows to ensure AI tools provide genuine value for neurologists and neuroradiologists.
This workshop marked a crucial step in piloting AI-based solutions for ischemic stroke, combining academic research with practical insights from clinical experts to guide future development and evaluation.
